General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course Overview

General Nursing and Midwifery, also known as GNM Nursing is a three-year diploma course that aims to provide skills and knowledge on patient care as well as a clinical treatment. The GNM Course Syllabus is structured so that students master the technical components of patient care. Clinical Nurse Specialists, Legal Nurse Consultants, Forensic Nurses, Traveling Nurses, and more nursing careers are opted for by GNM Nursing graduates. The GNM nursing course is divided into 6 semesters as well as 6 months of mandatory internship. The course is basically designed to provide full-fledged training to nursing professionals. The course contains a mixture of both practical as well as theoretical training for the students who are willing to acquire basic skills.

Admission Process of GNM Nursing

Admission to the GNM Nursing programme is mostly based on the results of several state-level entrance tests.

  • The candidate should complete 10+2  to appear for the GNM nursing exam. The candidate who has not completed Std. 12 cannot appear on the admission test.
  • He or she should fill out the application form and make the payment for admission fees. If he or she clears the entrance test they will get direct admission to the college.
Eligibility Criteria for GNM Nursing

The following are the eligibility criteria to pursue the GNM Nursing program:

  • The student should complete their standard 12 in the science stream having Biology as the primary subject.
  • He or she should secure at least 50% marks in the Std. 12 exam.
  • He or she should get the minimum marks required in the entrance examination.
